Yes, and you should take it. Respite means Kelly comes to sit with your relative so you can step away, whether that is for an appointment, the shopping, a night off, or simply a few quiet hours that are yours. Visits run from a short sit-in of an hour or two up to a full day, arranged around whatever you need rather than a fixed package. While she is there Kelly provides company and conversation, keeps things ticking over around the house, and can prepare a meal. You get a proper account of how the time went when you return. Family carers routinely run themselves into the ground before asking for help, and starting small is completely normal. Respite is £20 per hour with no contracts. Kelly lives in Mansfield and works across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
